Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In my 30s, I restructured a Development firm & in that process I realized my love for commercial real estate. I decided to start a Boutique Commercial Real Estate Company, CDS, which just turned 5 this year! I absolutely love what I do & the being a part of the entrepreneurship world. We are a full service firm that works with Retail, Office, Warehouse/Industrial Properties & Land for Development. Our experience in development has afforded us the opportunity to work all sides of the transaction, whether that be Property Management, Listing space for sale or lease, Investments for a passive income stream, Buyer Representation & Tenant Representation. One of our favorite parts of representing tenants is that our services typically come to them at no cost as commissions are typically handled by the Landlord. We also love to help start-ups prepare to get into a commercial space.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Reputation is such an important part of business. Being educated & experienced in my industry has been the most impactful characteristic of credibility. In commercial real estate, there is not a clear path of education which makes a lot of the industry skeptical of abilities. You can usually see it on a colleague’s face when you’ve convinced them you’ve done this before! When you truly put client’s interests above your own and advise on what’s best for them, not what’s best for your pocketbook! Integrity is another huge part of having a great reputation. Clients as well as the other brokers that you are working with in deals see how you work & in the small world of commercial real estate in Houston, that reputation will follow you.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What started as a plan to pursue development pivoted into a Boutique Commercial Real Estate Brokerage through some of the challenges faced in 2020. CDS provides third-party leasing & sales of commercial properties, whether it’s Retail Space, Office, Warehouse/Industrial, or Land for development. CDS also offers Property Management services which is perfect for investors who would like to diversify their investments and add commercial real estate to their investment portfolio to allow for passive income.
From my clients’ perspective, I get great feedback on communication and explaining the process of leasing or purchasing commercial space & truly putting the clients’ needs first. I love to think creatively and with the added experience being a part of the development of over $100 Million in projects from purchasing land & due diligence, working through title & loan closing, staying involved on construction calls during development on through to either the sale of that property or property management if the development was held in the portfolio, I have been afforded many situations to hone in on many variables that can come up in getting a deal done in the best way!
